If you could act out for one whole day and have that day disappear in everybody's memory except for yours, how would you act out?

Honesty is sappy. I would like to say I would go wild and do all the things that I was told not to do: Lie, Steal, and all those other things.

Truth is much less interesting, and at the same time frightening.

A better question is: "If you could do that one thing that your culture, laws, religion, etc, tells you not to do, and know you would get away with it.... Would you do it?"

Someone who you believe needs to die. If no one except yourself never knew, could you live with the knowledge that you crossed that line?

I would spend my day much the same as I do now, because no matter who knows what you have done, you still have to pay the consequences.

Why do the call it a driveway when you park on it and a parkway when you drive on it

The usages are extended from the base meanings of the words, and are consistent with these meanings.

A "park" is a place set aside for a specific purpose.

The English word way is the equivalent of the Latin word via, meaning "road" or "path." Thus a "parkway" is a road (way) through a park. The road is used by cars, thus you can drive on a parkway, that is you can drive on the road (way) through the park.

The term driveway originated as the designation for the place you drive you car into at the house, like from the gate of the farm, or estate, to the house. When you got to the end of the driveway, you would park the car. ("Park," as in the meaning described above, because you are putting the car in the place designated for the car, that is the car park.)

The term driveway was thus established and continued to be used, even when people with tract houses had only a short "way" to drive to the house, so the place where you drive the car into by any house is called a driveway.

It is still consistent with the base meaning and broader usage of the term in that you "drive" into and onto the "way" designated for the car for that dwelling.

Is there life after death?

I believe that our belief shapes the world we live in. If you believe that everything just stops when you die, then that is what will happen to you. If you believe it is possible to come back as an animal or even another person, then that is your path. If you believe you sleep until paradise, then you are in for a long nap.

My personal beliefs are just that, personal. I have to know you really well to share at that level.

Do you believe in monogamy?

I like the anonymous nature of these questions. It makes me think about the answer so much more.

I could be a smart alec and say, "I didn't know Monogamy was a god. Does he or she smite people for not believing in him or her?"

But then I seriously looked at the question and have to say, Yes, I do believe that, having one partner who only has you as a partner, is a common foundation for a good relationship.

That being said, I will quote Savage Garden's Affirmation, "I believe that trust is more important than monogamy." There are so many other factors of a relationship that monogamy may not be the issue.
